Also would it be a bad thing to have "happy hour" sort of thing at our wedding where we only have an openbar for a certain amount of time? We dont want to spend a ton of money on alcohol or have guests that drink too much.

Question #3:

How do you cope when you are nothing like your family?

I'm sure every teenager feels this way...

I'm a vegetarian, I just have this thing against eating meat...I'm not a full vegan though because do eat some dairy products. But my family (or more specifically, my mom) likes having steak or pork-chops every night...stuff that I would never eat. I love gardening, it is my favorite thing to do...and my family wants to get rid of all the flowers because they're annoyed with all the bees. I love the winter, rain, and snow...my parents moved us out to Arizona in a city that it gets maybe 3 inches a year and it never goes below 50 degrees (usually, there are those rare occasions). I feel like I am the exact opposite of my family. I love my family, but I just wish they would take ME and MY LIFESTYLE/PERSONALITY in consideration. I can cope with Arizona, my mom had promised to send me up to Utah during winter to visit family up there (and Utah is amazing in the winter in my opinion), but some things...just the little things, I would appreciate if they considered them more, like maybe letting me continue to grow my garden and having vegetables and fruits along with their usual meat dinners. I hate sounding like a brat or someone who doesn't appreciate their family, but I really would like to be taken in consideration more, I'm the "minority" in the family so most of the time I guess I feel ignored or that my opinions and likes don't matter?

Question #4:

Predicted in the Bible or Qur'an?

I am an agnostic. My cousin and I were having a friendly discussion just as always about religion. She is "kind of" muslim. The reason I say kind of is because she doesn't pray 5 times a day, she has a dog, eats pork, drinks alcohol & cusses a lot (you know, normal human behaviors). She grew up a muslim so she believes in the muslim God but she doesn't care about the things that make no sense according to her.

HERE'S THE MAIN POINT:
When I was telling her that no one could ever prove or disprove the existence of ANY God, she quickly interrupted me and said this: "Fine, no one can prove stuff like that, and yes science disproves a lot in Qur'an and the Bible, but what about the predictions made in Qur'an that actually happened?"

When I asked her to be specific she said "I can't think of anything specific right now but I know there are some predictions made in the Bible and Qur'an about 'recent' events that happened exactly at that predicted TIME and LOCATION."

So my question is: What has been predicted in the Bible or Qur'an that actually turned out to be true?

Question #5:

Moms what should I make for dinner? and BQ?

Just went to the grocery and mother in law and her boyfriend are coming over for dinner... out of these three options what sounds the best to make?
1. Brown Sugar Meatloaf with mashed potatoes corn and dinner rolls?
2. Pesto Chicken with Angel Hair, french bread and a garden salad?
3. Breaded baked pork chops with stuffing and corn?

BQ: Do you make your kids special meals or do they eat whatever you made. My kids eat what I make just because they have no other option, my sister in law fixes her kids chicken fingers, mac and cheese, etc. I know I am so abusive my kids are deprived..... how does it go in your home?

Question #6:

i need tips on gaining wait?

im pretty scronny and wanna start working out and ive been eating stakes ribs pork chops potatoes and stuff like that for the past month and haven't been gaining wait i think its because of my metabolism im only a 110 pound and im 16 but i need some tips on gaining some wait.

Question #7:

can dog digest cooked bone?

My 15 lb deer headed chihuahua swallowed a cut of pork rib bone. I would say about 1 inch thick in diameter, height and width. i gave him one without meat to see if hell swallow it and he didnt, and so i gave him another with meat assuming hell chew on it like the last one, but noo! he just swallowed it. (i assume cause the meat smelled soooo good) ugh! so i know cook bone splints your dogs stomach but he didnt chew the bone so thats not the issue. Im just asking if the bone may get stuck in his digestive track OR do their body naturally break the bone down? And please dont give me answers like "call the vet" and stuff. This is not a emergency until my dog shows signs of discomfort. But i am just asking on here to be more aware. If the time comes to go to the vet, it will be done.
Okay, i did not mean for him to swallow the bone. I usually just give him a bone so he can chew on it for his teeth. After he is done, the bone is still intacted. Not a single piece of the bone goes into his stomach. (maybe like so little the naked eye cant see) So i am well aware not to feed it to him. Like i said, i even tested the water to see if hell swallow it while i was supervising him. and since he didnt, i fed him one with meat and he suprised me by swallowing it. complete freak accident.

Question #8:

My Fiance's Female Co-Worker! Please Help I Need Advice.?

My fiance and I have been together for the past 5 years and we have a 18 month old together :)!!!!!!!!!!!!! We have a pretty happy and healthy relationship. We both trust and respect eachother, so what I am about to write doesn't pertain to my trust over him, it's over other people. One of my fiance's co-workers is a girl that I use to go to high school with, I was never friends with her but some of my friends were so I knew about her a little bit. Well she comes over and hangs out once or twice a week which is fine I like her and she likes us and loves our little boy. I mean she never really comes over alone it's usually with another co-worker of codys (my fiance) but she had said somethings the other night that I did not care for. We had her come over so she could come over and drink with us for a bit, before her friend picked her up to go to this open house she was going to. Well we got her a little too drunk and when her friend showed up we had to have her come in to so she could see our son (she is also a co-worker of codys). Well we were all talking in the kitchen and she says out loud and looks at me "Don't take this the wrong way, but I treat all of the guys at work as if they were my boyfriend." and her friend says "Like a boy-friend right, u mean like a friend." and her friend kinda gave me a look like "Oh crap sam watch what you say." My fiance wasn't in the room at this time he was in the bathroom when she had said that. I asked my fiance the next day "So she treats you like her boyfriend at work huh," and he gave me a funny look and said "No not me, no way in hell shes gonna treat me like that plus everyone knows and she knows how i feel about her so she won't even try to ." Then he preceeded to tell me that last week her and Frank (another co-worker) were having a conversation, he said I couldn't hear everything but the stuff that he could hear you could tell that she was talking about her looks. She lookes over at Cody and says "Well what do you think Cody?" Cody replied "Why would I want pork when I have steak at home." I just have a BIG eye out for girls nowadays when it comes to him because we have had 3 psycho chicks try to break us up and get with him. So em I being paranoid or should i watch her? What should i do or say?

Question #9:

How long is a can of Ravioli good for? How many years?

Am getting togather food stash and wondered how long canned items are good for. I once had a can of Pork n beans and I swear they were good after 5 years at least...what about other stuff? Anyone know this stuff. Wanna make sure we don't poison ourselves in our darkest hour!

Question #10:

Do you have to convert to Judaism to be considered Jewish?

If you are already Jewish by blood but weren't raised Jewish just cause your parents didn't really care about religion as long as you believe in one god only.
I also didn't have a barmitva or learn the torah or celebrate all Jewish holidays or learn Hebrew, although my father would always go to Israel and we never ate pork and celerated Christmas for the sake of the presents kids and decoration and so we wouldn't feel left out when our friends did get stuff. What should I do or do I have to do to be considered a real Jew or do I have to do anything at all? And we kept koesher in my family andy brothers were circumsized within 8 days from birth.
Ps. I am Jewish through blood by birth through both of my parents, just so you know. I just was raised by parents who didn't believe in religion but believed in god. And FYI Judaism is a religion but being Jewish or like some like to say an Israelite or Hebrew is an ethnic group that can be traced by DNA even. So since I do want to have faith in my own religion what I want to know is, do I still have to convert inorder to learn the Torah and all the rules under a rabi or can I do it by my self or do I have to do it at all inorder to consider myself a faithful Jew?

Question #14:

Need help with custodial parent's lack of nutrition in children's diet?

Hi folks,

I'm the NCP of two daughters of 9 and 11.

I see them several times a week during holidays and every other weekend during term times. They stay over frequently and also engage with their cousins (and aunts/uncles) while in my company.

When their mother and I were together, she would cook 'normal' meals for us and we'd also go to her mother's house every other Sunday and her father's the opposite Sunday, where we would have a full Sunday roast with vegetables and all the "good stuff". Not to be nasty to her, but I do recall she did struggle to cook 'full meals', but she would make the effort.

Now, however, things have changed it seems. We've been separated several years, but I don't pry into her home life. (Obviously if the kids told me they were in danger, I'd intervene - but that isn't the case).

When they come to mine, I cook a proper meal with them. We don't have a 'family meal room' but we do all sit together for a meal and usually have a radio going in the background. I make sure they have an assortment of vegetables (broccoli, carrots, peas, cauliflower, etc. etc.) meat (steak, pork, chicken, etc. etc.) and roast potatoes or mash to ensure they have a filling and nutritious meal.

After we'd finished last night's meal, I offered bread to mop up the gravy (yeah, yeah, I know, not the best table etiquette but it suffices). I asked if they did this 'at home with mom' and they told me they never have gravy. I asked why not and my younger daughter explained they do not have 'these kinds of meals with mom'. So I probed a little further and asked what they normally have for meal times these days?

Chips (I'm in England, so by chips, I mean 'thick cut fries' - see pic1), waffles, burgers, pizza and 'that kinda stuff'.

In short, it's all what I consider to be 'junk food'. Now, I'm no prude where food is concerned. Hell, I'll happily eat a 'pot noodle' or pizza and chips and all that, but I don't eat it as my main meal - daily. And I think at their ages especially, they need a more balanced diet.

I asked if they still have proper meals at grandma's or grandads (who as I said, live separately now) and they said grandma never feeds them but grandad usually does them a sandwich and bag of crisps (crisps = 'chips' to american readers). I recognise the nutritional value of sandwiches as they can have almost any kind of filling, so potentially they're good sources of nutrition. However, my kids are fussy eaters where sandwich fillings are concerned and will only have strawberry Jam (Jelly to american readers).

I don't wish to come across to my ex as imposing in her parenting skills (ahem), but I do feel there is a need to address this issue of their dietary needs.

How can I approach her, without her taking great offense while ensuring she does 'something' to try and rectify the diet of our children?
My main point is a lack of vegetables (as in 'zero' every day while with mom and maternal grandparents) aside from once a week when they're with me.

That aside, I'll give the 'buy some groceries' and see if that hint works... but I strongly doubt she would cook them even if given freely.
A chick, thanks for the lesson on cultural differences. I hadn't picked up on the jam/jelly thing in the time I lived in USA - it skipped my attention, but now i know!!!

However, I'm a little concerned with your response which seems to suggest, aside from doing what I do already (give them a proper meal and talk about why they need nutritional meals) I should do nothing at all - and just let them keep living on junk foods...

I disagree. Their mother needs to be addressed, and my question is HOW to address her in a non-intrusive manner.
If YOUR kids lived with their father and he fed them on junk - daily - would you let it slide and just 'hope' the kids would become health conscious, when it's supposed to be the parent's job?
A Chick - Thank you for clarifying.. Sorry if I misinterpretted your response.
Creed, what are you on about being a 'typical guy'???? At least try to explain a little better perhaps. There's nothing typical about any of this. I'm simply asking for advice on how to improve my children's diet while at their mother's... would you prefer my kids go without nutritional meals just so you can feel justified in calling me a 'typical guy'?

Pepper - it was removed for 'rant/insult' allegedly.

Question #17:

DO YOU KNOW WHAT THE TALIBAN WANTS...EVEN IN AMERICA...?

The Al-Qaeda and the Taliban are both Sunni Political Movements. The Taliban (aka; Taleban) is more a political organization than religious one. It is heavily involved in drug trafficking. The Taliban and regional Afghanistan war-lords have sometimes cooperated but more often clashed violently. The Taliban does not really promote religious ideals, as much as it acts somewhat like an organized crime syndicate. The forcing of Sharia Law is a ruse to control locals and give a religious face to the world, hoping to garner sympathy from the non-Arab liberals throughout the world. The word “Taliban” is actually the plural of Talib. Here is the real truth about the Taliban; under the Taliban regime in Afghanistan, Sharia law was interpreted to ban a wide variety of activities: employment of women, education of women, sports for women, movies, television, videos, music, dancing, hanging pictures in homes, clapping during sports events, kite flying (kite flying?), stuffed animals, dolls, beard trimming, pork, pigs, pig oil, anything made from human hair, satellite dishes, cinematography, music equipment, pool tables, chess, masks, alcohol, tapes, computers, VCRs, television, anything that might propagate sex, wine, lobster, nail polish, firecrackers, statues, sewing catalogs, pictures, Christmas cards, men are required to have a beard, men must wear their head hair short, men were also required to wear a head covering, woman were required to wear a full burqa, theft was punished by the amputation of a hand, rape and murder are punished by public execution, and married adulterers are stoned to death. In Kabul, these punishments were carried out in front of crowds in the city's former soccer stadium. Enjoy!

Question #18:

What religion should I go to?

I believe in god, sort of Jesus, I don't focus on him too much though, mainly god. So I don't care what the teachings of Jesus is. I don't want to have a lot of practices, sexist commissions, or a lot of holidays. I just want to do what I normally do and celebrate the Christmas, Easter, and Holloween, stuff like that. Not Ramadan, Honika, stuff like that. I think I'd go great in Judaism or Islam but Islam makes girls wear robe-like things and allows men to have more rights than women. I also want to be allowed to eat pork or anything I want. Basically, if they have any practices at all, it should be easy and not hard/complicated, just like Christians usually just have prayer.
I think we all will get to heaven eventually, but those who do REALLY bad are sent to a prison in the afterlife, just like jail here, until their crime/sin is made up for than they can get into heaven.
I don't want to learn too much about culture, just God. Judaism I heard teaches too much of it...

Any thoughts? Maybe I can be Christian, but I don't really pay attention to Jesus too often and I don't think the flood happened but was taught as a lesson, and I don't have the same afterlife as them.

I'm Old Earth Creationist.

Question #19:

Babylon The Great??? Who decided that Babylon The Great is false religion?

Who interpreted that? If she sits on the 7 waters, that meeans to me that it's world wide---and what is happening worldwide? Greed--everyone wants to make money, and naturally on the backs of those who have nothing. So, who exactly defined this as being "false religion"?? Personally, I came to the conclusion that false religion is the money that is on everybody's mind, the materialistic stuff---because I don't think that belonging to a particular group makes you worthy to be destroyed. I do believe that God's name is Jehovah, I believe that jesus is his son, I also believe that our days are numbered--but why would any religion teach their people that other religions are false religions? Jehovah's witnesses do that--but they also do eat pork--which I declined to eat ever since I read in the bible that it is unclean.
Is there anyone out there who can give me a reference to who declared Babylon The Great false religion? I mean worshipping money in a sense is false religion too--but Jehovah's witnesses try to say that they are the only true religion and declare every other religion fals---I don't think anyone can take that upon themselves: the only one who knows is Jehovah (or Yaweh)himself.....Thank you
